Location

North Karelia: a piece of the most beautiful part of Finland’s lake district! We are located on the shores of the Höytiäinen Lake in Polvijärvi, North Karelia. Pure, clear water and abundant in fish, the Höytiäinen Lake is Finland’s 15th largest lake.

Lomakeskus Huhmari is located on the slopes of the Huhmarisvaara fell in Kuorevaara, Polvijärvi. Joensuu is the nearest city (33 km) where there is a railway station. Onttola airport is 25 km from Huhmari. The Koli national landscape is just 65 km away.

Driving instructions

Arriving from the Joensuu area?

Take highway 17 from Joensuu towards Kuopio, about 9 km, and turn right. There is a road sign indicating Polvijärvi (502). Drive for about 16 km on Polvijärventie road, turn right. There is a road sign indicating Kuorevaara/Huhmarinen 8 km (15779). Drive about 4 km until you see a sign for Huhmari and a road sign indicating Huhmarinen 4 km. The road leads you straight to the parking lot of the holiday center.

Arriving from Kuopio or Varkaus?

Once you are near Joensuu driving on highway 17, turn off the Ylämylly interchange to Polvijärvi (road 502). The rest of the trip is as described above.
